Just to make everyone aware, The belton woods two day event has changed to 24th & 25th May 2021.

Grange park has been re-arranged for 19th April 2021.

Pairs Championship

We have now reached our last main competition of the season the Pairs Championship.

Which was held at Wergs Golf Club on the 23rd September

We had another good turn out with 13 teams taking part.

The course was in good condition, but the weather did not look to good towards the end of the round and the rain did come only when everyone was inside having dinner.

 We had 1 player who had a two on the day-: Kevin Pyne

Nearest the Pin -: Simon Coleman

Nearest the pin in 2 -: Alan Wood

The winning Pair -: Dani Jones and John Heanan with 71 points

In second place -: Simon Coleman and George ward with 69 points winning on the best back nine

In third place -: Kevin Pyne and Steven Cooper with 69 points

The winner of the Brian Coldrick Trophy for the best combined scores over the full season was Dani Jones with a scores of 154 points.

Direct Parts Individuals Championship

Off to Rufford golf club for our blue-ribbon event. This is the only competition that all the shots must count.

14 golfers took part in this competition with some very good scores coming in once more.

What can we say about the weather but thankful for the sunshine once more. The course was again in very good condition.

We had 4 twos on the day Dani Jones. Kevin Pyne, Nigel Thomas and George Ward

Nearest the Pin -: Kevin Pyne

Nearest the pin in 2 -: Steven Cooper

The winner -: with a very good score of 67 shots was Dani Jones

In second place -: with 72 shots was Paul Thomas

In third place with 73 shots was Steven Cooper

MEMORIAL TROPHY

Our next competition was the Memorial Trophy this is the day we remember our passed members who are sadly no longer with us.

The venue was the Staffordshire golf club.

The turn out was not up to our normal standard with only 17 golfers taking part.

The weather was kind to us once more and the course was in very good condition.

There were no twos on the day

The winner -: winning with a better back nine with 39 points was Dan Jones

In second place -: with 39 Points John Heanan

PSV SYSTEMS PAIRS CHAMPIONSHIP.

Wynyard golf club was our next venue for the PSV Pairs championship.

The course was in excellent condition and the weather was again back with us.

We had 26 golfers taking part which made up 13 teams. We had some very good scores on the day.

We had 1 who had two on the day Guy Mitchell,

our friend.

Hi all.

Just to let you all know a lady who was part of our socitey and friend who supported us all for many a year. Jenny Hodgson passed away on the 5th of August.

she will be missed for her bantter and fun. our thought's go out to Geoff.

May god take you into his arms and make you well again.

Jenny  R.I.P

Jenny's Funeral will take place on Monday 19th August at Octon Crematorium near Bridlington at 14.30 if you can make it please do.

sliver jubilee and captain\\\'s day Eaglescliff golf club 15/05/2019

Our first match of the season is the silver jubilee cup also this is Captain’s day.

The venue for this date the 15th may was at the Eaglescliff Golf Club.

Tony Cope captain for 2019 which is the societies 45 year been in existence.

Tony meet every member and guest with a goody bag. We had 29 golfers taken part. 20 members and 9 guests. There was also a game within the game. Which was the Captain vice the Vice-Captain.

The two teams were made up of members. This game was won by the Vice-captain’s team beating the Captain’s team by 306 to 279. Well done to the Vice-Captain’s team.

North v South at Mickleover Golf Club.

Our first game of the new season is normal played against Halesowen golf club. But it was decided that we would no longer play that game.

At our agm it was suggested that we played a North vice South game in April instead.

The game was arranged to be played at Mickleover Golf Club on the 24th April.

We had 20 players taken part 10 from each region. the format was pairs and singles. Played on a stableford score. With a 2points for winning the hole and 1point for drawing the hole. Then all the points added up at the end of the round. The winning team was the North with 144 pints and the South with 108. Winning captain was Tony Cope.

The Chairman of the National Passenger Transport Spots Association Mr Murray McDonald was at the venue to present the Ted Lock Trophy to Dani Jones who won it was his individual proformas over his second season of playing golf. Well done Dani. Murray also presented the prizes also. We thank him for taking the time out to come and see us

The course was in to bad a condition but the weather did not look to good. We found that out about half way round the course when the havens opened, and the rain came down we were lucky to finish the round. There was a lot of wet people.

 We had 5 players who had twos on the day-: Chris Sharp, Guy Mitchell, Tony Cope, Simon Coleman and Tony McCarthy.

Nearest the pin in 2 -: Alan Wood

The winning Pair -: Dani Jones and Simon Coleman with 73 points

In second place -: Tony Cope and Philp Cope with 70 points

In third place -: Chris Sharpe and Mike Watson with 60 points

The winner of the Brian Coldrick Trophy for the best combined scores over the full season was Dani Jones with a scores of 141 points.
